This brand new round at the classic Majura trails in Canberra is being run on behalf and with Head and Neck Cancer Australia to raise both awareness and vital funds. What a great day it will be.
Starting and finishing on the grounds of the iconic Majura Winery there will be some fire trail to allow the sorting order to be established before you take on the Majur trail network. For the 50km riders, the 2nd loop takes you into the Mount Ainslie area before coming back to finish off the lap.
We’ve also got a 10km option for those just looking for a sample of MTB racing.

Start Time: 10am to 10:20 am – All 50km and 25km classes
You can either start with the fastest at 10 am or wait for some space and start with your mates or with no pressure. You just have to start before 10:20 am.
About the course
The 1st loop for the Shifty Fifty (Which is the full Shifty Shorty Course) has a start loop that gets you over to the lower side of the Majura Parkway and onto ‘The Flash” before leading you back into the Shifty Short full loop. The 50km riders then do a second loop that also takes in a short Mount Ainsley section to make up the full 50 km.
Riders can leave any bottles at the reed Station at the village. Then on course there is a feed zone. If you’re riding the 50km route you will pass through it three times.

- Lap 2 – 7.6km and 12.6km
We’ve also added in a Shifty Smally, a 10km option for those looking to be a part of the day, but aren’t keen on doing the 25 or 50-km races. This is ideal for families, young kids or those looking to give the trails a go. ENTER SMALLY

The event will kick off around 9:30am with a Welcome to Country from Traditional Custodian Wally Bell, and Federal Member for Fenner in the ACT, the Hon Dr Andrew Leigh MP will officially start the race, with the event wrapping up around 3:30pm.
Enjoy the event village with music, sponsor stalls from Majura Winery and Canberra Distillery, and the Grease Monkey food truck and Little Batty Coffee Van will be there too.
Head and Neck Cancer Australia will also be holding a raffle on the day with some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses in Canberra and PSI Cycling. Tickets will be $5 each, so 5 for $25 and 10 for $50. The raffle will be drawn at 2pm on the day and prizes distributed.
